Wat gebeurt er als je twee boeiende dichters met elkaar in contact brengt en hen elkaar laat ontdekken via een zomerse poëtische correspondentie? Het resultaat zal voor het eerst te horen zijn tijdens deze Poetry Talks!
Ontdek in dit programma 4 boeiende dichters uit het prestigieuze Europese Versopolisnetwerk.
Poëziecentrum koppelde een Finse en een Georgische dichter telkens met een Vlaamse dichter. Als een soort van ‘poetic penfriends’ gingen ze tijdens de zomer met elkaar corresponderen op zoek naar bijzondere parallellen of tegenstellingen en spannende thema’s in elkaars werk. Actie leidt tot reactie en opnieuw actie. Moderator Melissa Giardina gaat met hen in gesprek.
Het eerste dichtersduo is Susinukke Kosola (Finland) en Arno Van Vlierberghe (België). Arno beloofde het neofascime een nekschot toe te dienen in Brussel. En Susinukke liet alvast weten: Looking forward to acting, reacting and fucking shit up in poetic ways with you!

ARNO VAN VLIERBERGHE (BE)

Arno Van Vlierberghe (1990) was born and raised in Brussels, but lives, writes and works in Ghent. In 2017 he published his first book of poetry, a collection of five long-form texts called Vloekschrift, which was nominated for the C. Buddingh’ Prize for best poetry debut. The Flemish critic Paul Demets noted that “few poets make their poetry debut with so little respect for the sacrosanctity of poetry as Arno Van Vlierberghe. His Vloekschrift is a manifesto against status-quo society and against all poetry that plays it safe.” His academic studies in contemporary Dutch and English literature firmly rooted him in several Belgian lineages of experimental writing. Shocked by the tragic death of the young American writer and activist Mark Baumer (1983 - 2017), fatally struck by a car during his attempt to cross the U.S. on his bare feet, Van Vlierberghe started writing his second book of poetry. Taking five years to complete, the project resulted in the book-length poem Ex Daemon (2022), which was nominated for the J.C. Bloem prize for the best second book of poetry.
SUSINUKKE KOSOLA (FL)

Daniil Kozlov (who uses the nom de plume Susinukke Kosola) is a Russian-born literary jack of all trades. He has written four collections of poetry and created a bunch of 3D-printed poetic objects. Kozlov is also broadly active in Finnish poetry circles; he is known for his live poetry performances, for founding a small publishing house called Kolera, and for being the originator and editor-in-chief of online national poetry critique portal Runografi. In addition to all these projects, Kozlov teaches creative writing at the University of Turku. He has also occasionally been paid for his work.
MELISSA GIARDINA (BE)

Melissa Giardina is het gezicht van Vindetta!, een bedrijf dat alles verenigt wat Melissa het liefst doet: moderatie, interviewen, redigeren en vertalen. Daarnaast is ze een notoir veellezer, belust op schoonheid en verwondering en werkte ze jarenlang als boekhandelaar. Ze heeft Brusselse roots maar woont en leest in Gent.
