Art Activism in Flanders and Europe.

Screening #1

We live in turbulent times. How can poetry respond to this? The Klimaatdichters are a group of poets who stand up, want to engage, and create awareness. For a year, they ventured into nature each season under the motto "Let Everything Take Root Here". The result is presented in the artistic film of the same name by Klimaatdichter Sara Eelen and videographer Bas Schaevers. The film will be premiered in Brussels at Poetik Bazar. Some Klimaatdichters will provide insights into the creation and significance of this unique project.

The screening will be followed by a talk with Sara Eelen and Saskia Stehouwer.

Screening #2

The project is part of a larger European collaboration among five partner countries under the name ArtACT (Art Activism in post-COVID Europe), which explores how literature and art can positively change the world. In a film by the Slovenian videographer Marko Kumer Murč, the cases of the five partners from Belgium, Slovenia, Sweden, Germany, and Spain are brought together. This European film will be premiered in Brussels at Poetik Bazar. Duration: 26 minutes. Subtitled in English. Poëziecentrum is the Belgian partner of this project.
