The microphone is yours! To close the Poetik Bazar in style, we invite you to take the stage and slam.

Bilingual open mic slam, co-hosted by Mel Moya and Steven Graauwmans.

Mel Moya is part of the L-Slam collective, a multicultural and intergenerational group of female poets organizing workshops and slam events.

Steven Graauwmans is a visual artist and poet who lives in Schaerbeek.

The event is open to everyone and is accessible to both French and Dutch-speaking audiences.

Mel Moya

Mel Moya, a slam artist from Seraing, performs internationally, both with music and a cappella. Winner of the Paroles Urbaines and Borderlines - Euregion Poetry Slam awards in 2021, she published Mater Dolorosa with l’Arbre de Diane, a slam collection reflecting on painful childhood memories with radiant resilience.

Steven Graauwmans

Steven Graauwmans lives and works in Brussels. He has written poetry collections including Reservisten van maandagen and Wachten op de bijen. In fall 2023, his collection 11 was published. Through his monologues Ms Jane Beryl Wilde and Ms Emma Wedgwood, he gives voice to the women of scientists Stephen Hawking and Charles Darwin.
