Tijl Nuyts (1993) is a frequent user of public transportation in Brussels, Belgium, and beyond. Additionally, he is an author and poet, researcher, and poetry editor for the literary magazine Kluger Hans. In 2017, his poetry debut Anagrammen van een blote keizer (Polis) was nominated for the C. Buddingh' Prize. His subsequent work Vervoersbewijzen (Wereldbibliotheek, 2021) won the Herman de Coninck Prize 2022 and is on the shortlist for the De Grote Poëzieprijs 2022. His poems and short stories have appeared in Tirade, DW B, Deux Ex Machina, Poëziekrant, Het Liegend Konijn, and DIG. Essays on literature, music, visual arts, and television have been published in De Nederlandse Boekengids, Awater, De Lage Landen, as well as on Mvslim.com and De Reactor. He has performed his work on various stages in Belgium and the Netherlands.
