Mel(anie) Asselmans

Mel(anie) Asselmans (°1994) is a dreamy poet and spoken word artist based in Brussels. She is also a member of the inclusive creators' collective Hyster-x. In her work, Mel reflects on the inherent complexity of human relationships. She writes about being a woman and queer identity, consent, privileges and boundaries, love, compassion, and compromise. Mel has performed on various stages and has written for publications such as Deus ex Machina, Dans! Dichter! Dans!, Konvooi festival, In Welke Zin, CLIT!, and Druk in Leuven.
