Anne Versailles

Anne Versailles was born and lives in Brussels. However, she believes it was a mistake by the storks, as her habitat is the Alps.

Trained as a biogeographer, in 2010 she hiked across the Alps from the Adriatic to the Mediterranean, independently camping along the way. Through creating an artist film of this journey, she discovered the realms of sound and sound poetry.

Since then, she works at the intersection of text, image, and sound, as a walking artist, geo-poet, and "sound sculptor". She creates by traversing territories, capturing words and sounds through field recording, and composing geo-poetic pieces from the energy of the landscapes she crosses. These pieces are then shared through on-site sound installations, sound siestas and listening sessions, and sound walks.

She also writes poetry, often incorporating these words into her sonic creations.
